I have just seen the special report that CTV television did this morning saturday 20th september 2003, and i was moved and happy to see that someone else in the world cares, for animals without homes or futures, and especialy pigs, there are really one of the most misunderstood animals, way more human than most humans themselves, and as smart as dolphins with an even wider range of pure emotions just like us, my mums loves pigs and when in england my mum used to resuce horses pigs cows birds anything that was lost old or left to fend on it's own.
Years have past and i'm happy to see that someone else is doing the same kind of brilliant work, i my self would donate the whole $250.00 dollars if i had it, for their feed, but i am now out of work due to cancer ( but recovering nicely fingers crossed) but i do get a monthly welfare check from social services, so i will donate $10.00 next week. i hope this will help in some small way, i know everything counts, and hopefully more people will donate even a little bit. good luck with your sanctuary, and lets see many more hearts with noses happy and smileing.
yours keverne. PS. maybe one day i could come and visit. let me know. Thanks.

I love reading about your little Oinkers. I wish I had room for one! But I have addopted Many dogs from the SPCA 0ver the last 30 years,& took in many stray cats. Right now I have 2 cats that I have taken in. The mom came to me with 4 Kittens, the mom was skin and bones.I named her HOPE let her raise her babies, Kept Hope and one Kitten, named her Dot & found homes for the other Kittens.. That was two years ago.had Hope & Dot both fixed Through Katies. My cats are indoor cats and very happy. We love them so much, they truly are part of our Family.... Angie

comments: hey janice, i just thought i would write a note of thanks in your guestbook. without you and your efforts in finding homes for unwanted pigs, i would not have my two precious boys. they have certainly been a wonderful addition to our family and a great learning experience for me being a new pig mommy. i just want you to know how much i apprieciate the efforts you make, and the love you show to these human like animals. it's too bad there aren't more people out there like you.

Hi Janice, What a great website! I am so happy to know about another wonderful person providing a loving and caring home for the pot bellied pigs. I have two, one is 14 years old and the other is 9 years old. The latter was rescued from being the next barbeque! I also have 9 cats, most rescues. Glad you love those pot bellied pigs like so many of us do. Keep up the good work

What a wonderful website and more importantly what fantastic work you are doing. I so wish that I could offer my help but I live too far away. I will certainly send an donation at the end of the month.I have a very special 3 year old girl, her name is Sassy; and that she is! Sassy is a very spoiled indoor pig...she does have a large fenced yard and is pretty good about not gardening to much on her on. She has areas to root, a pool to go in in Summer and a root box with rocks for her popcorn. I especailly use this in the winter. We get a lot of snow and Sassy does not like winter so she has her indoor activities. Sassy is my second potbelly pig, she is a black and white. I bought her from a breeder North of Squamish. I had looked all over the three western provinces trying to find one. I wish I had know then about places to adopt one but I couldn't find anything in Canada, only in the States. My first girl was a local recused sweatheart. Her name was Sexy and she was mostly black. I got her at 8 weeks old and had her love for over 7 years. She went lame and although I tried everything I finally had to take her to our vet. Even through the vet apparently researched how to deal with potbelly pigs, she didn't know what she was doing and killed my baby on the table. I've never cried so hard and for so long....It was horrible. But on a happier note, Sassy is the sweetest girl, unfortunately not very little any more. When I got Sassy I had her spayed by a vet in Abbotsford. and have since been back to Dr. MacQuisten for a checkup and follow up on some chronic ear problems that Sassy has. It's a lone way to go but my only choice for a vet. Thanks again for taking in the precious little (big) sweathearts.

Love the website Janice.... good job!! Thank God for folks like you that do something about caring for animals. It just kills me when animals are abused as they are so trusting and loving....mankind could study them from a spiritual point of view. Good luck with all you are trying to accomplish and give all your "friends" an extra hug from me.

One has to just visit Janice's home to realize her love for her family of pigs & horses & dogs & cats, etc. etc. I have come to know her as a neighbour and a cool friend. Her knowledge of our "animal" friends is overwhelming and I consider myself very lucky to have come to know and love her passion for this way of life. I truly am in awe of her commitment.

I am saving up for a wee pot-belly pig to adopt into our home. We lost our "Dolly" who was the average size. She lived to be 14 years old then died in her sleep. We all miss her so much but where glad she had a good life and didn't have to suffer in the end. Now that I have found your site, I look forward to visiting you as often as we can. Keep up the good work!

I was one of the four that visited you yesterday. Thank you for allowing us into the sanctuary and your home (especially on the Sunday of the long weekend!) to be with all the beautiful pigs, dogs and horses. It was an amazing and enlightening experience to interact with the animals. You are truly a wonderful and caring person, and all the dedication, hard work, time, and love you put into the sanctuary is evident. Thank you for everything you do! :)

this is a story of a wonderful farm pig named Charlotte, born in 2002.R.I.P on October 24th 2003. I just got over major neck surgery and my son broght me the cutest farm pig blk and wht hampshire. oh she brought me so much joy. She was the daughter i never had. in the early spring as she became to be a young lady her brother and her had gotton into a fight. Pigs often do. Well poor little 375lbs of Charlotte became very sick. i have never gotten over her gentle warm caring sweet heart. i spent endless hours, months, special vets from all over two different states. in the barn with her as she went in and out of a coma, she would get better and then worse. I never left her side for 6months and I loved that little gyrl as if she was my own flesh and blood. We were so hopeful of her on her last day as she got up and started to play with me pulling on my pant leg and turning in circles. Oh how she made me smile that day.You know she is the one who rescued me. that night i left her for only 1 hour to go eat and she wanted to wait for me to leave because when I returned she had passed. Oh dear God How I miss her so much. she was the light of my life and the apple of my eye thank you Charlotte for allowing to be apart of your life....i love you always, all pigs go to heaven love your mommy
