Adopt or foster

Since Hearts on Noses is a sanctuary, not a shelter, we do things a bit differently. All of the animals we currently have here are forever residents. We try very hard to get pigs into their own homes prior to coming to us.

When we find out that there is a pig who needs to be rescued, often we are not given much notice. We never know when we'll get a call or email alerting us to a pig in trouble. In emergency situations, we need to have someone ready to provide a safe home as soon as possible. For this reason, we have a pre-approval process for those who want to adopt or foster a pig. The pre-approval process involves a Pre-Adoption Questionnaire and a home visit to ensure you are properly set up for your new family member. We strive to match you with a pig who will fit in with your family and your lifestyle.

Once you are pre-approved, we will contact you every time we learn of a pig needing a home that might be a good match for you.

To prepare yourself for living with pigs, make an appointment to visit the Sanctuary and see how we do it! Our blog is also a great resource. The stories written by Janice will bring you into the world of pig rescue and living with pigs.

If you are interested in fostering or adopting a pig, please fill out and submit the Pre-Adoption Questionnaire.
